MATT WAITE: NEW  FORMS AND GLAZES

A special showcase of ceramics by Matt Waite featuring new collections of tableware and
one-off pieces created exclusively for
Quercus Gallery.

Working with Cornish stoneware clay and a range of oriental based glazes, Matt has been exploring new forms – taking inspiration from Korean vessels and mastering inventive new combinations of glazes.

There is a new direction to this work; glazes are more spontaneously layered and interact with surface details to create fresh, expressive pieces.  This exhibition is a chance to see the results of an exceptionally creative period of making from this experienced studio potter.  A range of bowls, large low dishes, teapots, jars, cups, bottles and jugs will be available.

Opening evening Thursday 19 November
Sunday 22 November open 11 – 4 pm

Matt Waite’s work will also be showing at the gallery up until 24 December.
