ROS JOHNSON

York-based artist Ros Johnson’s interdisciplinary practice combines the disciplines of mixed media painting, drawing and textiles. Her improvisational approach to process creates interesting tensions between mediums, resulting in visual manifestations of control and release. This approach she describes as “a haptic collaborative relationship between maker, process and material.”

Heightening the presence of ‘the unknown’ is key to the artist’s work and concepts. She enjoys the spontaneity and momentum of experimentation that result from exploring the inherent characteristics of her chosen materials.

The jewel-like mixed-media works we are showing at the gallery are £80 each, unframed.  We can happily assist and arrange framing if required.  Please get in touch if you would like any help.
